Seasonal Pool Passes 


Season passes are available to purchase for the entire summer at the Parks & Recreation office. Pass holders have access to Lap Swimming, Open Swim. There is an additional charge for swim lessons, special events and water aerobics.  Purchase before May 25th for 25% discount.

Individual 17 & younger - $50.00
Individual 18 & over - $70.00
Family Pass - $110.00*
*Family season pass fee includes up to six immediate family members (up to 2 adults and four children). For family members over the allotted six, there is a $20.00 fee for each child.

Learn to Swim Lessons


The City of Apache Junction offers swimming lessons for children and adults every summer.  Evening and daytime opportunities exist based on the largest needs in the community.  Registration for residents will begin on March 16th and all other individuals may register beginning April 1st.  To register online, visit www.ajcity.net/onlinereg and search for classes in the Aquatics category.  Our Schedule of classes and class descriptions are listed below.  If you need help determining your child's skill level, please call or visit our office, click on the registration flow chart below OR join us at our annual April Pool's Day event to have your child tested by one of our amazing Water Safety Instructors.

Backboarding

Lifeguard Training Class

The American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification course is a requirement for employment as a Lifeguard. To participate, you must be 15-years old by the final day of class. Candidates must pass a pre-skills test on the first day to continue. Attendance at all class dates is required for certification.

Water Safety Instructor Training

Become a certified Water Safety Instructor, and teach American Red Cross swim lessons. This class is a requirement for employment as a Water Safety Instructor. To be eligible to participate in the class you must be 16-years old by the final day of the class and must complete a pre-course skills test to take the class. Attendance at all class dates is required for certification.

Junior Guard Training

Our Junior Lifeguard class is designed to teach basic rescue techniques, assist in enforcement of pool rules and regulations during open swim, aquatic facility operations, and help assist in our Learn to Swim programs. By completing this course you will be eligible to apply for a volunteer Junior Lifeguard position with the City of Apache Junction.

April Pool's Day

Superstition Fire & Medical District, AJ Parks & Recreation and AJ Police Department team up every April to conduct this Water Safety event.  Bring the whole family and enjoy the various activities, home pool safety for parents, mini swim lessons, swim skill evaluations, raffles, and much more.

Summer Pool Party Rentals 


Summer Pool Party Rental reservations are available for June and July this year on Saturday & Sunday evenings.
 

Planning a birthday celebration, family picnic, or office party and want to have it at the Apache Junction Superstition Shadows Aquatic Center?   The swimming pool is available for rent on Saturday and Sunday nights June 6th-August 9th, 2020 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. All pool rentals are for a 2-hour time frame and include the Lifeguards.  All reservations must be made in-person through Parks & Recreation located at the Multi-Generational Center, 1035 N. Idaho Road.  Registration for residents will begin on March 16th and all other individuals may register beginning April 1st.

Rental Rates:
$200 two hours + lifeguards (Shared Use less than 100 people) 
$300 two hours + lifeguards (Shared Use 100-149 people)
$400 two hours + lifeguards (Exclusive 150-300 people) 

Pool Reservation Rules 
  
All reservations must be made in-person at the Parks & Recreation office. Reservations can not be made over the phone. Reservations are only secured once the correct paperwork & fees are turned in and if there is availability for the desired date.
 
Pool rules will be handed out at the time of your reservation.
