Community Development Block Grant Program

The City of Apache Junction has participated in the U.S. Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Small Cities Program through the Arizona Department of Housing since 1982. Funding is allocated to the City annually based upon Central Arizona Association of Government's Method of Distribution.

Past projects that have been completed by the City with CDBG funds are:
  • Fire protection facilities and equipment
  • Library construction
  • Housing Rehabilitation
  • Street Improvements
  • Funding to non-profits for transportation needs
  • Food Bank expansion
  • Senior Center kitchen improvements
  • Mobile Command Unit for the Police Department
  • Communication system for the Police Department
  • Street lighting installation
  • Downtown Redevelopment Plan

For information about public hearings, the City’s grievance policy, the CDBG program or to receive technical assistance to formulate prospective project ideas for presentation at the hearings, please contact the Program Coordinator.

To submit a project for consideration complete the project description form and submit to the Program Coordinator. Additional documentation for Non-Profits requesting funding is required. For questions, please contact the Program Coordinator.
