Entrepreneurship

The City of Apache Junction Economic Development Department and the Apache Junction Public Library have partnered with Arizona State University to advance and promote local innovation and entrepreneurship through knowledge sharing. To support local entrepreneurs, the city will offer ASU Startup School workshops. The ASU Startup School is a comprehensive and proven framework for developing ventures. ASU Startup School is a series of facilitated workshops wherein entrepreneurs learn what they need to do in order to develop a successful venture. The ASU Startup School workshops are delivered in a sequence of continuing education modules, organized in three stages:

  • Stage 1: Ideation Active learning modules and workshops for entrepreneurs that are refining initial problems/solutions and learning how to efficiently navigate potentially viable markets.
  • Stage 2: Validation Active learning modules and workshops for entrepreneurs that are experimenting and developing prototypes, minimum viable products, and launching solutions in the market.
  • Stage 3: Acceleration Active learning modules and workshops for entrepreneurs that have successfully demonstrated product-market fit and revenue generation and are ready to scale, expand, or optimize their commercialization activities.

The Economic Development Department will be offering the series beginning August 18th, 2016. The series consists of 6 classes that will be held once per week for six weeks. Classes will be scheduled for Wednesday at 10am and will be held at the Library. Please register for the event on the Eventbrite page or email Elan Vallender at evallender@ajcity.net
