Partnership Development

Want to grow your business? If so, let us help!
The city’s partnership program helps businesses reach existing customers and develop new ones. Using its assets, the city works with companies to develop partnerships that allow the company to get its message and brand out to not only residents of this community but also to this entire region.

Thank Goodness It's Friday ("TGIF") Lunch Program
In 2015, the apache Junction Unified School District transitioned to a four-day school week, resulting in no classes for students on Fridays. To address a new need in our community, the city Parks and recreation and Library staff developed the Thank Goodness It's Friday ("TGIF") program. Scheduled for the 32 Fridays in the school year, this all day program offers a variety if activities including arts and crafts, sports, fitness, board/electronic games, and the opportunity to "hang out" in a safe and supervised environment. Unfortunately, experience has shown many times when a child comes to an all-day program he/she has not been provided with either a lunch or the resources to purchase snacks from our vending machines. In other words, they have no access to food once they arrive at our facilities. Our staff wants to make sure no child goes hungry during the TGIF program! Click here to find a "menu" of ways in which you can help us keep our children well fed while they are playing, learning, and socializing.
4th of July Fireworks Celebration
The Fourth of July Celebration is a day-long event that attracts over 5,000 attendees. The event features a spectacular fireworks show, live entertainment, free watermelon, a sand volleyball tournament, swimming at the Aquatics Center, and a kid’s zone with inflatable/water games and a bicycle, tricycle, and wagon decorating contest. This is a free event, open to the public, with fees for food and game booths. Click here for more information.
Special Thanks!
Brookdale Apache Junction
Thanks to Brookdale Apache Junction for helping the city honor the tireless service of numerous boards and commission members for their many years of commitment to Apache Junction. On March 7, 2016 Brookdale hosted a dinner honoring those citizen leaders who have served the city over the last 25 years. View photos taken during the dinner in the photo album to the right.

Brookdale also supported an Alzheimer's awareness event entitled Healthy Minds-Healthy Living.

Lost Dutchman Marathon
Thanks to the Lost Dutchman Marathon for its ongoing support of the city’s youth, family, wellness, and special event programs!
Republic Services
One of the city's strongest partners over the last several years has been Republic Services. When economic times were really bad and the city was faced with cancelling its annual 4th of July fireworks display, Republic Services stepped in and saved the day! For six years, Republic Services has provided the funds so that Apache Junction could provide one of the best fireworks displays in the Valley of the Sun. Republic Services continues to support the Apache Junction community in may other ways including neighborhood clean-ups, residential clean-ups, and providing recycling information to local students.

Click here to read a letter to the editor that appeared in the Apache Junction News. The letter was written by two young sisters and talks about the fireworks display.
