Are you looking for an excuse to hit the links every week and pay less than the normal rate? If so, the Apache Junction Parks and Recreation Golf League is the perfect excuse to head to the course for 13 weeks of golf. The golf league is available for both men and women, and scoring will help to establish the handicap each player will use to score their weekly play and earn points. The league is held at Apache Creek Golf Course and will occur on Tuesdays beginning November 7th. Registration fee is only $5.00 per season and a weekly green fee of $37.00+tax (this includes the $2.00 prize fund). Individual registration but groups can play together.
Players/groups schedule their own tee times each week for play starting at 12:00pm and later. Earn points for winning any of the weekly contest holes, shooting within net score ranges, and below par on holes. If you miss a few weeks of the league don’t worry, you only need to golf a minimum 8 weeks to qualify for the tournament and points. If you’d like to play with a group, but don’t currently have one, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 480-474-5119, we will work on matching up individuals to form a group. The more you golf the more points you can earn. The league concludes on January 30th at 8:00am with a tournament (lunch provided) and gift certificates for the pro shop based on points earned and winning contest holes.
Registration is being accepted now through December 6th in the AJ Parks & Rec office (1035 N. Idaho Rd.), online www.ajcity.net/onlinereg, or at the course (Nov. 7 from 11:00am-Noon). The league is limited on the number of registered players so, sign up early. Visit www.ajcity.net/sports for league details and rules.
