Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona and the city of Apache Junction are seeking families interested in partnering for their dream of homeownership. We have four properties located in Apache Junction and applications are being accepted now. We hope to begin construction soon.
“Homeownership is for everyone. We can give families who are willing to partner with us the security of a safe place to live and raise their children, even in these economic times,” said Maribel Saucedo, Director of Family Services for Habitat.
Housing is one of the most important means of wealth accumulation, especially for those with lower income since it provides equity and forced savings resulting from mortgage repayment. Partner families are selected based on their level of need, willingness to become partners in the program and ability to repay the no-profit, no-interest loan. Saucedo reiterates that Habitat is not a “giveaway” program. Homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor into building their Habitat house and the homes of others.
Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona provides homes loans with a zero interest, since the home is financed by Habitat. Those with incomes of approximately $32,000 annually are eligible.
