July 4 Fireworks

July 4 Fireworks and Crowd

Celebrate the Fourth of July this year from your backyard, your business or live stream with us on social media.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions on events and gatherings, our celebration will look a little different this year. In consultation with the Apache Junction Police Department and Superstition Fire and Medical District, we are very fortunate to be able to continue our annual fireworks display to celebrate our Independence Day on Saturday, July 4, at 8:30 p.m. We plan to have a show that is vertical, with no ground displays and can be viewed throughout most of the community.

The fireworks show is sponsored by our longtime partner, Republic Services. They have been a strong supporter for 11 years.

In addition to fireworks, Parks and Recreation will be offering residents “Rec Packs” that will be available for pick-up at the Apache Junction Multi-Generational Center on Thursday and Friday, July 2 and 3. The packs (one per family) will be filled with fun Fourth of July activities and games, and are free to the first 100 families. In addition we will celebrate Independence Day with various entertaining posts, videos and things to do via social media sites.

As usual, the fireworks show will be contingent on weather and fire safety in the nearby area. We encourage everyone to view from home with family and friends. Residents may contact our office the week of the event to find a list of limited viewing locations near Superstition Shadows Park where they can view from their vehicle, drive-in style (email us at or call 480-983-2181).

We would like to thank our fireworks presenting sponsor, Republic Services, as well as our annual event supporters: the Apache Junction Police Department, the Apache Junction Unified School District, and the Superstition Fire and Medical District.  Without their support, this annual event would not be possible.
