Parks and Recreation is offering a youth fitness class this fall at the Multi-Generational Center.

Fitness Exploration for Homeschoolers is for kids ages 7-13. We’ve redefined this class to incorporate activities that will explore multiple dimensions of health and wellness. This fitness class incorporates a variety of physical activities that will encourage homeschooled kids to live active lifestyles and build healthy habits. Activities will include but aren’t limited to: games, sport introductions, strength training, coordination and cardiovascular exercises. The possibilities for fitness fun are endless! This program will be Tuesdays/Thursdays from 1-2 p.m.; starts Oct. 6 and runs through Nov. 19!

Parents, while your kids are getting a workout and learning good lifestyle habits, you can too! If you haven’t been to the Multi-Generational Center, stop by and tour the facility. Check out our state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment; and see our “million-dollar view” of the Superstition Mountains from our indoor walking track. Group Fitness classes are included in each membership. We offer a wide range to fit everyone’s needs: ZUMBA, Pilates, Stability ball class, Tabata, Total Body Conditioning and a variety of styles of Yoga classes.  We are also an approved SilverSneakers, Silver & Fit and Optum facility. We are currently taking reservations for group fitness classes as well as to utilize the fitness center and walking track. Inquire at the front desk for more information or for a group fitness calendar.

Safety is our No. 1 concern for all of our program participants and staff. A mask must be worn at all times. Mask breaks will be taken and may be taken off while doing activities outside. Kids will be properly spaced out and extra precautions taken with the cleaning of equipment.

Details of these classes and more can be found online at or pick up the information at the Multi-Generational Center located at 1035 N. Idaho Road, Apache Junction.
