We strive to keep you informed of what's happening in our city. There are many ways for you to view events.
The Default View is with all of your calendars selected.
  • To view the available calendars, click Select Calendars. Put a check beside the calendars that you want to view and click View Selected Calendars and you will only see the items in the calendars you checked.
  • To View by Month click on the "<<" or ">>" buttons on the Monthly Calendar.
  • You can also enter a specific date to see the events for that day.
  • You still have the option of viewing a printable month and week’s calendar with your selection of calendars on it.

Public Meeting regarding the use of CDBG funds
The City of Apache Junction is expected to receive an estimated $280,000 in FY 2010 federal CDBG funds from the Arizona Department of Housing Regional Account (RA). The City of Apache Junction may also apply for up to $300,000 in FY 2009 and FY2010 CDBG funds from the State Special Projects (SSP) account. CDBG funds must be used to benefit low-income persons and areas, alleviate slum and blight or address urgent need. Public hearings will be held to gather citizen input on the use of the CDBG funds.

Free Dump Week - Nov. 9 - Nov. 14
Apache Junction residents who show proof of residency can dump one load for free during the week of November 9 - 14. Bring a copy of your id and a water or utility bill.

Where: Tomahawk and Baseline,
When: Monday thru Saturday 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Youth Tennis Lessons - Oct. 7 - Nov. 18
This is a 6 week instructional program with each week participants working on a new aspect of the game. Don’t wait to sign up for this as space is limited and will fill quickly.

Where: Superstition Shadows Park - Tennis Courts

After School Sports - Nov. 3 - Nov. 24
Apache Junction Parks and Recreation is teaming up with the local elementary schools to provide a variety of fun and enjoyable sports right after school. Please contact your school’s PE coach for information on what sport will be offered next.

Powerline MTB Race - Nov. 7
Test your mountain bike skills on this 14 mile flat and fast race course at Prospector Park. The course is primarily hard packed dirt following the power lines with some occasional sand areas. Registration will start at 8am and the race will start at 9am. Helmets are required. You must be at least 14 years old to participate. HELMET REQUIRED

Wellness Event - Nov. 7
This is one event you can’t afford to miss. The MGC will host vendors, non-profits, city agencies, healers and providers from all over the Apache Junction area. With over 80 booths, educational classes, art classes, demonstrations, handouts, give a ways and much more you will definitely go home with something! This event is for all ages and all walks of life. Closer to the event a schedule of exciting classes will be available at the MGC.

09 Outdoor Expo - Nov. 21
Join us at the Rodeo Grounds to explore outdoor recreation opportunities in Apache Junction. Local vendors will be onsite promoting different outdoor organizations, supplies, and information on a variety of outdoor activities. This is a FREE event open to the community. For information on setting up a booth at the event, please call Dan Wilson at 480-474-5146.

09 Turkey Bowl 4 on 4 Football Tournament - Nov. 21
The Turkey Bowl is a one-day Adult Flag Football tournament. All games will be held at Superstition Shadows Park. Stop by AJ Parks and Recreation to register by November 6th.

Where: Registration is going on right now through Nov. 5th @ the Parks & Recreation office.
