Explorer Program
Overview
Exploring is a program for young men and women ages 14-20 who are interested in a career in Law Enforcement.

Objectives
  • Provide quality Law Enforcement training and experience
  • Emphasize the importance of building and maintaining strong community relationships
  • Develop responsibilities and leadership skills in all Explorers
  • Promote physical fitness practices and standards
  • Promote a positive image of Law Enforcement and young adults in our community
  • Provide the highest quality applicants to the Law Enforcement profession
  • Through this education and high participatory involvement, we hope to develop and build better citizens
  • Exploring also builds self-esteem through individual and team efforts, developing pride in ones achievements and in personal appearance

  • Training
  • Competitions

Establishment
All Explorers will attend a Law Enforcement training Academy. Once established in the program Explorers can:
  • Participate in ride-a-longs with the Patrol Division
  • Test for rank inside of the Post
  • Earn uniforms, an Explorer badge, and merit ribbons

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a high school, college or employed
  • Maintain a "C" average
  • No criminal history
  • 14-20 years of age
