Mayor John S. Insalaco
Mayor John Insalaco
  • Serving as Mayor since June 2007. Served on City Council from June 1997 to June 2001 and June 2003 to June 2007.
  • Family: Married to Susan. They have three children and four grandchildren.
  • Work: Co-owner, Insalaco's Music and Upholstery since 1971. 
  • Associations: Rotary Club member; Apache Junction Chamber of Commerce member; Knights of Columbus member; American Legion member; and Veterans of Foreign Wars member. Served on Globe School Board for nine years and was Citizen of the Year in 1972.

  • Serving as Vice-Mayor since June 2003. Served on City Council since 1997.
  • Education: Holds a degree in Water Technology.
  • Family: Married to Cynthia. They have two children, Jami and Juni.
  • Work: Previous employment includes City of Mesa Water Quality Department.
  • Associations: Active community fundraiser including the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Association and Bob Eck Memorial Fund and is a City Parks and Recreation volunteer coach.

  • Serving on City Council since June 2007 (third term). Previous service on City Council 1989-1993, serving as vice-mayor 1993-1995.
  • Education: Masters Degree, Northern Arizona University; Bachelors Degree, Arizona State University; Associates Degree, Central Arizona College.
  • Family: Married to Ed. They have four children, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
  • Work: English teacher, Mesa Public Schools, since 1987. Previously worked at the Apache Junction News.
  • Associations: Served on City Planning and Zoning Commission, 2003-2007 and is a City Parks and Recreation volunteer. Assisted in establishing both the City Health and Human Services Commission and the City Citizen Leadership Institute.

  • Serving on City Council since 1998. Re-elected in 2001 and 2005.
  • Family: Married to Debbie. They have six children. 
  • Work: Sales Associate, Lowe's.
  • Associations: Served on the Planning and Zoning Commission.

  • Serving on City Council since June 2007.
  • Family:  Married to Sveta.
  • Education: High school diploma, Shenandoah, Ohio. 
  • Work: Owner of AJI Sporting Goods since 1999.  Previously worked in the gas and oil field industry and in wildlife management.
  • Associations: Apache Junction Little League coach, volunteer and manager; Apache Junction Chamber of Commerce member; National Federation of Independent Businesses member; and National Rifle Association member.

      • Serving on City Council since June 2007. 
      • Family: Married to Peggy.  They have two sons and two grandchildren.
      • Education:  High school diploma, Spencerville, Ohio. 
      • Work: Has worked for Boeing since 1997.
      • Associations: Superstitions Horsemen's Association member, serving as President 1997-2006; Arizona State Horsemen's Association member and current President; and is a board member of the East Valley Back Country Horsemen.

      • Appointed to fill the vacancy by the resignation of Mr. Joe Severs in November 2008; served on City Council from 1991-1995, served as mayor from 1995-2007.  Only mayor in city's history to be re-elected by voters.  Elected in 2002 to serve as Treasurer of Executive Board of League of Cities and Towns, served as Vice  President and later President from 2006-2007.
      • Family - married to Roxanne, they have six daughters.  Native Arizonan.
      • Education - graduate of Arizona State University, masters from Northern Arizona University.
      • Work - teaches business technology at Apache Junction High School and coaches boys and girls cross country. 
      • Hobbies:  trained for and ran in half of Lost Dutchman Marathon.  Duncan Yoyo Champion.
