The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was enacted in 1990 to ensure people with disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else to participate in all aspects of American life. Modeled after the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin, the ADA is an equal opportunity law for people with disabilities. The ADA prohibits discrimination based on disability.

Under the law, the City of Apache Junction strives to assure its programs, services and activities are readily accessible and usable by qualified persons with disabilities. The city will reasonably modify practices, policies and procedures to ensure participation is afforded to everyone.

The City of Apache Junction's ADA and Civil Rights Plan illustrates the city's commitment to the ADA.  A complete report on each facility is available by contacting the ADA and Civil Rights Coordinator.

The City of Apache Junction invites and welcomes people of all abilities to use our programs, sites and facilities. Any question about our service for people with disabilities can be answered by Bryant Powell, ADA Coordinator (480) 474-5066 or .
