The inviting atmosphere in the fitness area and the camaraderie in the group fitness classes are what set us apart. We strive to create enjoyable fitness opportunities for every member of the family, young and old. Our knowledgeable staff will keep you abreast of the latest in fitness trends and research. It is our purpose to pass that knowledge on to the participants so that they too may become better educated on how to take care of their physical health. The MGC offers a variety of group fitness classes designed for participants 14 and older.  Children 11-13 years wishing to attend the fitness class must be accompanied by a participating adult; please speak with the instructor prior to the start of the class.  Some classes are so popular that they fill quickly.

Homeschool Exploration

Homeschool Exploration

Explore multiple dimensions of health and wellness; kids will work their creative minds as well as their bodies. This fitness class incorporates a variety of physical activities that will encourage homeschooled kids to live active lifestyles and build healthy habits. Activities will include but aren't limited to: games, sport introductions, strength training, coordination and cardiovascular exercises. The possibilities for fitness FUN are endless!

Fitness in The Park 

Join Parks and Rec Group Fitness instructor, Sonya for a Parent/Tot workout at Flat Iron Park. Class geared towards parents with stroller-aged children. Strollers are required. 100 N Apache Trail, Apache Junction.

Start your Friday morning with a 2-mile power walk on the beautiful desert trails behind the MGC. Guided walk begins at 8:30am, meets Fridays January 10th-March 6th and is free!  No pre-registration required.  Meet the staff in the MGC lobby.

Coffee Talk

Enjoy a cup of coffee while listening to an educational speaker Friday mornings. Topics range from Diabetes Nutrition and Estate Planning to Home Safety, Distance Hiking and How to Train Your Brain! These talks are FREE but requires pre-registration as space is limited. Stop by the front desk for dates and  a list of topics or call 480-474-5240 for more information.

Qigong

This class is for anyone with the desire to improve their own level of health and develop their own self-healing abilities. You will learn several active Qigong exercises and meditations; these are the foundations to self-healing. There will be lots of hands on practicing of the active exercises, meditation techniques. 18+

Food Art

Playing with your food is allowed in this class! Learn nutritional aspects of different foods, how to cook with them, then use the food items to make an art project that you can take home.

TRX Body Blast is a full body workout designed for all levels.  Challenge your upper body, lower body and core with this suspension training workout that focuses on building muscular endurance and a rock solid core.  Improve your stamina and expect to build overall strength, balance and flexibility with this total body workout.

Fit Families is a program designed to encourage and support families in spending more time together and making healthier life choices. It takes GREAT partners to make this program work! Girls On the Run®

Girls on the Run® (GOTR)is a non-profit program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. The program combines training for a 5k running event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts and curriculum-based lessons on themes such as dealing with body image and the media, resisting peer pressure, making healthy decisions and contributing to the community. Open to all 3rd-5th grade girls, this program will be held at the MGC and will culminate in a season ending 5k Run/Walk.

Heart & Sole 

Heart & Sole is a part of the Girls on the Run® (GOTR) program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running.
