COVID- 19 Updates
We have been working hard to prepare a sensible approach to the federal and local requirements put in place as we continue to assess facilities and programs. We continue to prepare procedures and practices that prioritize your safety (as well as your ability to get out and recreate, stay healthy, and play). We appreciate your cooperation, your understanding, and your enthusiasm as we work through this challenging time. This page will be updated with resources and data as it becomes available.

Update September 1st, 2020
The Multi-Generational center will reopen on reservation basis for the fitness and track area on Thursday, September 3, 2020 in accordance with AZDHS guidelines. For more information on what to expect, how to make a reservation, and new safety requirements please visit the MGC webpage.

Flatiron, Prospector, Superstition Shadows, and Silly Mountain parks have remained open for our community to exercise and get out in the fresh air.
All groups must be under 50 people and most reservations will require a COVID plan on physically distancing and sanitization processes in order to be approved. Reservations will be taken Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
- Playgrounds, open spaces, and trails
- Ballfields/sports fields for individual and individual family/small group usage. For organized practices, scrimmages or games a reservation must be made. Tournaments are not allowed at this time
- Sports courts for individual use only
- Skatepark (sunrise - 9pm)
- Ramadas Over 25 people requires a permit.

The Parks and Recreation Department encourages families to get outside. We will be sharing on our Facebook page ways you can stay healthy, recreate with your family, and keep active.
We continue to follow federal and state guidelines/recommendations for prioritizing the health and safety of our community. You can visit what the CDC, Arizona Department of Health Services, and White House recommendations for more details.
What you should know about the Coronavirus:
STAY CALM: There have been a limited number of cases identified so far in Pinal County and Arizona at large. Avoiding widespread panic and fear is essential to limiting the negative effects of a possible outbreak.
TAKE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
INFORMING CHILDREN ABOUT COVID-19: Remain calm and reassuring, remember that children will react to both what you say and how you say it. Avoid language that might blame others and lead to stigma. Remember that viruses can make anyone sick and teach children everyday actions to reduce the spread of germs.
