Dance Party Raises $1,000

Tracie leading-websize

The Sixth Annual Pretty in Pink Dance Party held on Oct. 12 was a huge success. Approximately 100 participants took part in the annual fundraiser benefitting the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. We celebrated the breast cancer survivors and fighters as well as honored friends and family no longer with us. Our amazing Zumba instructors provided lots of energy as participants, laughed, smiled and danced!

The event was free but monetary donations were taken and will be forwarded by The Friends of Apache Junction to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.  A total of $1,016 was raised at this year’s event. That brings our six-year event total to $7,586 raised and donated for breast cancer awareness.

Everyone who attended the event went home with something in hand as there were plenty of giveaways for all. For those who made a monetary donation, wore pink or brought a friend, they were able to enter the raffle drawings. Due to the generosity of our community, 44 raffle items totaling more than $1,000 in value were donated to this year’s event.

A big thank you to the following contributors: Beth Turner (Mary Kay), Bass Addict Tackle & Coffee, Cadenza, Culvers, Desert Rain Therapeutic Skin Care, Dirtwater Springs, Durazo Poco Loco Salsa, Heirloom Farmers Market, The Friends of Apache Junction, Handlebar Pub and Grill, Kneaders, Los Gringos Locos, Pura Vida Grinds, Starbucks, Superstition Mountain Museum, Shady Way Gardens, TLC Massage, Texas Roadhouse, Village Inn and many gracious individuals.

It is exciting to see community members of all ages come together and support such a wonderful event. We are looking forward to next year!
