Here is the schedule for city facilities over the Veterans Day and Thanksgiving holiday weekends in November.


The city of Apache Junction will close all administrative offices on Monday, Nov. 11 in honor of Veterans Day and on Nov. 28 for the Thanksgiving holiday. City offices are closed on Fridays. Emergency services through the Police Department will not be impacted by the holidays.

The Apache Junction Public Library schedule around the two holidays:


Veterans Day, Nov. 11 -- closed


Wednesday, Nov. 27 – 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29 – closed

Saturday, Nov. 30 – 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 1 -- closed

The Multi-Generational Center schedule:


Veterans Day, Nov. 11 – 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. (No senior lunches served)


Wednesday, Nov. 27 – 5:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28 – closed

Friday, Nov. 29 – 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. (No senior lunches served)

Saturday, Nov. 30 – 7 a.m.—3 p.m.

The Paws & Claws Care Center schedule:


Veterans Day, Nov. 11 – closed (the shelter is normally closed on Mondays)


Wednesday, Nov. 27 – 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28 – closed

Friday, Nov. 29, and Saturday, Nov. 30 – 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Remember, the Festival of the Superstitions, presented by the Apache Junction Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Flatiron Park, 100 N. Apache Trail. The festival includes live entertainment, a car show, a beer garden, a patriotic pet parade, an art activity for kids and adults, a pie eating contest, food and fun for the whole family.


The weekend is capped by the Veterans Day Parade at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11. The parade down Apache Trail is coordinated by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9399.
